This policy explains what information Pantraxxa LLC (“Pantraxxa”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit pantraxxa.com, how we use it and the choices you have. Pantraxxa Publishing is the publishing company of the Bolin Firm.
The short version
- We do not sell books on this site. When you buy a book, you buy it from Amazon, and Amazon’s own privacy notice applies there.
- We collect what you send us through the contact form, and basic visit statistics through Google Analytics.
- We add you to our email list only if you tick the box to sign up.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, the topic you select and your message. We use this only to answer you and to handle what you asked about, such as a rights request, a review copy or a bulk order. Your message is stored in our website’s database and sent to our team by email.
Email updates
The contact form has an optional Email updates box. If you tick it, we add your name, email address, phone number (if you gave one) and the kinds of books you chose to hear about to our email list, which is kept in the Mailchimp account we share with the Bolin Firm and marked as a Pantraxxa contact. We use it to send occasional news about Pantraxxa books, matched to the books you chose. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us through the contact form to remove you. If you do not tick the box, we do not add you to any list.
Information collected automatically
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, how you arrived, and clicks on the Order on Amazon buttons (including which book). Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
- Amazon links. Our Order on Amazon links carry Amazon Attribution tags, which tell us in aggregate how many visits and purchases on Amazon came from each book page. We do not receive your name, payment details or order details.
- Spam protection. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from automated spam. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, and sends it to Google. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Security and delivery. Like most websites, our servers and service providers record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Our host (Nexcess), our network and security provider (Cloudflare) and our security software (Wordfence) use this to deliver the site, keep it secure and block malicious traffic.
- Fonts. Some of the site’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics (visit statistics), Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection on the contact form) and Cloudflare (security). We do not use advertising cookies on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, although the contact form needs reCAPTCHA to send a message.
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers who run the site and our email list for us (hosting, security, analytics, spam protection, email delivery and Mailchimp), with the Bolin Firm as described above, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the request, then delete them. Email list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in our Analytics account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us not to use it for analytics. Depending on where you live, for example California or the European Union, you may have further rights under local law. To make a request, use the contact form and choose General question as the topic. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Our site does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals. You can limit analytics with the Google opt-out above.
Children
Some of our books are written for young readers, but this website is meant for adults: parents, teachers, librarians and other readers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to Amazon, the Bolin Firm and other websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and security monitoring, to protect the information we hold. No website can be completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as details of a legal matter, through the contact form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
