The Rainmakers of Okemili
A novel by Ngozi Bolin
The Rainmakers of Okemili is a family saga and mystery by Ngozi Bolin, published by Pantraxxa. When the patriarch of the Weludo family dies abroad, his sons, his wives and two rival rainmakers turn his funeral into a contest over inheritance, loyalty and tradition.
About the book
In Okemili, tradition is power, and power is never shared quietly. The revered head of the Weludo family has died far from home, and his compound becomes the center of a widening conflict. Sons come back carrying secrets. Wives manage fragile alliances. Then two rival rainmakers arrive, and the village begins to take sides.
Rumors of poison start to circulate. A housemaid sees what nobody else is willing to see, and a village doctor pieces together clues that others are afraid to name. Market stalls fill with speculation and social media sharpens every grudge, while clouds gather over a funeral that tradition says must not be touched by rain.
The novel sets old beliefs against modern ambition, in a place where even the weather refuses to obey.
